ISTANBUL - CAPPADOCIA – ANTALAYA Tour
ARRIVAL ISTANBUL
Arrive at Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gökcen Airport. Welcome to Istanbul.
Meet and transfer to the hotel for check-in.
Dinner NOT included. Overnight at the hotel in Istanbul.

ISTANBUL
Breakfast at the hotel in Istanbul.
10:00 Private guided city tour with a visit to the main historical center of Istanbul,
Sultanahmet with its Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman monuments. Transfer from the hotel
to the historical center Sultanahmet. Walking tour starting with the Roman Hippodrome
and the monuments lined up along the spina of the original hippodrome built by Emperor
Septimus Severus in 203 AD. Obelisk of Theodosius, walled column, serpentine column
from Delphi and the German Fountain, gift from Kaiser Wilhelm II to the Ottoman Sultan
Abdulhamit II will be viewed.
Continue with the Blue Mosque built by Sultan Ahmet I in 1616, locally called Sultanahmet
Mosque but known by its blue Iznik tiles and also famous for its unique 6 minarets.
Restoration completed and the mosque is fully open to visits. (Entrance outside of prayer
times possible. Head scarves needed for ladies. Please remove shoes before entering the
mosque)
One of the highlights of the tour is the Hagia Sophia. Church of the Holy Wisdom of God
from the 6th century built by Justinian between 532 – 537 at the site of the previous two
churches by the same name. Following the conquest of the city by the Ottoman Sultan
Mehmet II, Ayasofya was converted to a mosque and eventually after the foundation of the
Republic of Turkey it has become a museum. (Since July 2020 the monument serves as a
mosque for Muslim worship. (Tourist visit only possible to the upper gallery floor with the
Byzantine mosaics. Entrance fee of 25 euros not included and can be paid on the spot if
guest wishes to visit the monument.)
Visit the 6th century Roman marvel of the Yerebatan Cistern, also known as the Basilica
Cistern.
Lunch served at an Indian restaurant.
Continue with the Grand Covered Bazaar (Kapalicarsi), a maze of 58 alleys and more than
4.000 shops. Dating from the early days of Ottoman rule in Istanbul, the bazaar houses
shops selling local craftsmanship, jewelry, pottery, spices, traditional costumes, belly
dancer outfits, leather, carpets and evil eye objects among other souvenir articles.
At the end of the tour, return to the hotel.

ISTANBUL

10:00 Fullday private guided city tour covering the Bosphorus area. The almost 30 km long
Strait of Bosphorus divides Istanbul into European and Asian sides geographically and
gives the city its unique peculiarity of being located on two continents. Our tour today
starts with the Spice Market located next to the New Mosque facing the Galata Bridge
spanning across the Golden Horn. A totally oriental experience with local herbs, spices,
Turkish delight, assortments of sweets, dried fruits and souvenirs are on sale. Built in 1664
within the complex of the New Mosque, this is the in place for spices, dried fruits, fruit teas,
nuts, variety of Turkish delight (lokum) and souvenirs in one of the most exotic ambiences
of the city.
A public cruise on the Bosphorus will introduce us to the rich cultural heritage of the
palaces, fortresses, wooden Ottoman villas and lively little fishing villages and famous
nightspots of the city.

Lunch at an Indian restaurant.
Tour continues with a visit to the Asian side of Istanbul.
Enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Camlica Hill. Return to the hotel after the visits.

ISTANBUL – fly to CAPPADOCIA
Breakfast at the hotel in Istanbul.
Transfer to Istanbul Airport and fly to Cappadocia.
On arrival at Kayseri Airport meet and transfer to the hotel in Cappadocia.

CAPPADOCIA
Optional Hot air ballooning ride with shared transfers 200 – 270 euros per person
depending on the season (Departure time will be given the day before in the evening. In case
of bad weather, rain, strong wind, fog etc the civil aviation authority may ban flights for the
day. In such cases, the full amount charged for HAB is refunded.)

Private Highlights of Cappadocia tour (8 hours approximately).
Our first real encounter with Cappadocia almost Martian landscape is in the Dervent
valley. We visit Pasabag’s “fairy chimneys”, where the voice of the wind harmonizes with
songs of the fairies. From here we pause at Avanos center of terracotta art.

We visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum to see the best examples of Byzantine art in
Cappadocia. We complete the tour with a visit to the Under Ground ancient City, where
early Christians lived in fear and faith. The houses in the village are constructed around the
nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city, which is one of the most interesting
underground settlements in Cappadocia At the end We will visit Hand- made Carpet co-
operative to see how the carpets are made by hand
Guests must be able to walk approximately 1, 5 miles over uneven and cobblestone
surfaces. Comfortable shoes, a hat and plenty of sunscreen are recommended as shade is
limited the order of the tour itinerary may vary in order to avoid congestion. Guests should
watch their step at all times in order to avoid injuries. Return to the hotel after the tour.

ANTALYA

Full day private guided tour of Antalya, Turkey’s tourism capital.
Today’s tour will take us to the Eastern coast of Antalya to discover the Pamphyllian cities.
At Aspendos, we will visit the best-preserved Roman theatre, built in the 2nd century AD.
Visit the Düden Waterfalls and admire the Karpuzkaldıran falls that flow directly in the
Mediterranean Sea over the cliffs.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
During the Antalya city tour we will discover the city with its old town, marina, Hadrian’s
Gate, Fluted Minaret, the Broken Minaret. Return to the hotel in Antalya after the visits.

ANTALYA – overland to PAMUKKALE – ANTALYA

Pick up from the hotel lobby and transfer to Pamukkale.
On arrival private tour of Pamukkale that has the meaning of the Cotton Castle in English.
Once known as Hierapolis, famous for healing thermal / mineral Baths and beautiful snow-
white “petrified waterfalls. After lunch visit Hierapolis, including the magnificently preserved
Necropolis, the main Street and Gates, the thermal Baths, the devil’s hole, and Masterpiece
Theater. Pamukkale terraces are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock deposited by water
from the hot springs. In this area, there are 17 hot water springs in which the temperature
ranges from 35 °C to 100 °C The water that emerges from the spring is transported 320
meters (1,050 ft.) to the head of the travertine terraces and deposits calcium carbonate on a
section 60 to 70 meters long covering an expanse of 240 meters to 300 meters.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Guests must be able to walk approximately 0, 5 miles over of travertine without shoes.
A hat and plenty of sunscreen are recommended. The order of the tour itinerary may vary in
order to avoid congestion. Guests should watch their step at all times in order to avoid injuries
because the waterfalls can be slippery. Due to the nature of this tour, it is recommended for
guests with walkers or wheelchairs till waterfalls. Bring sunscreen and a hat, as shade is
limited and bring swimwear for walking in the water at Pamukkale which is the snow-white
“petrified waterfalls.
After the tours return to Antalya and transfer to the hotel.
